Living The Good Life

Before I find time to type my experiences in Taipei & HK, I'll post about Ton Ton. We got home at 2 am on Sunday morning. The next morning, my MIL suggested to bring Ton Ton to their house. Hehe. So Ton Ton is once again with us. They were so sad when we had to bring him back to my parents before we left for our trip.

It's true. Ton Ton has won their heart. My MIL cooks for him everyday. Wholemeal spaghetti/rice/udon with chicken or pork or fish, different types of vege everyday, topped with ikan billis & wolfberry at times. They laugh at his antics & play with him.

Even my FIL who dislikes dogs has taken a liking to Ton Ton. He used to shoo him away & there was to be absolutely no physical contact. Now Ton Ton sleeps with him on the living room sofa. He feeds Ton Ton cheese every morning & pets him the moment he comes home.

Jeff tells me, "Sha gou you sha fu." (from the Chinese "Sha ren you sha fu"). It means that though Ton Ton is silly minded, he gets a different kind of fortune. Ton Ton is the silliest dog in the family. Too timid to fight back & always blindly following rules & instructions. But he gets the most love. Puggy is very clever with a mind of his own. He bends rules to his advantage & is always pushing to see how far he can go. He gets the most kicks. LOL. Wang Wang is the bo chap kind. He bo chap everything that goes on in the house.

At T1 Changi Airport

Hey, I'm posting from Terminal 1 at the airport! I didn't sleep very well last night. I actually went to bed at 11+ pm. Jeff woke me up when he came home from LAN gaming with his friends at 12.45 am. Then I couldn't get back to sleep till after 2.30 am.

The alarm woke me up from a nightmare when it went off at 4.30 am just now. I dreamt that we were sleeping & my MIL woke us up, saying that we overslept. When I checked the time, it was already 8.30 am (our flight departs at 8.05 am).

Did a last check to make sure that we brought everything. A few empty taxis drove past us without stopping. Why's that? It's good money with the midnight surcharge leh! Finally, we decided to cross over to BPP side. But before we even reached the taxi stand, we got the cab already. Reached here at 5.55 am.

Now we're just hanging around waiting for boarding. Well, there's free internet access capped at 15 mins per log in. I'll just entertain myself in the meantime. See ya when we get back!

It's Tomorrow!

I've confirmed once again the amount of clothes that we're bringing & locked that luggage away. We're bringing 1 extra luggage for checking in & it's pretty empty except for tissue paper, plastic bags for dirty clothes & toiletries. I keep worrying that I'll forget to pack something.

I've already put all my lotions into a clear zip lock bag. We've emptied out our wallets, leaving only credit cards, driving license, S$100 each & both HK & TW currencies. Now my problem is our 1st aid bag. I don't know if it can be hand carried coz it contains medicine & alcohol swabs (inflammable). I don't know if the heat will melt the meds or not since some are in capsule form. Gotta remember to check with the airport staff tomorrow.

I must be very lucky bah. The last time we went to KL with Enrica & Robert, I got my menses & had to take meds to stop it. Then, I woke up this morning to find that my menses has started. So it means I have to take the meds again. My menses has never been regular. But for the past few months, it's been quite regular at 6 weekly. Hmm... it's good coz I say goodbye to very heavy & prolonged menses (especially when delayed for months).

Other Updates

We went to the boarder's yesterday afternoon. Puggy is still as irritating as ever. The boarder told us that he likes to disturb the husky & 2 collies that are in the room with him. He's so daring! Each of the dog is like easily 5 times his size. I was afraid that he'll learn all the bad things like marking or doing his business anywhere on the floor. So I was comforted to hear that he's been doing his business on the newspaper provided & he still squats a little when peeing.

I've tried the spirulina powder already. I added half a teaspoon into a glass of milk & it was a terrible mistake. 1st of all, I never liked the taste of milk. 2nd, the spirulina doesn't taste very good. Next, I added it to fresh home made fruit juice (1 mini bitter gourd, 1 small gala apple & 2 green apples) & it was slightly better. The recommended daily intake is up to 4 teaspoons a day. I'm at half a teaspoon only. LOL. If it isn't becoz I wanted to give it to the dogs, I would have gotten the tablet form.

The last 3 seasons of Charmed arrived a week ago. This time it is way before the estimated date of delivery. Too bad I couldn't get the book as well. I should try ordering it again since the US dollar is weak now. But I'm afraid that the same thing of missing package will happen again.

I went for threading today at YT! $5 for eyebrows & $15 for full face. But I thought that I better do my eyebrows 1st & do the whole face next time just in case it hurts. Surprisingly, the pain's nothing more than mild discomfort. It was over in 5 mins. But it looks great. I'll do it again for sure.

Well, that's all for now. I doubt I'll be updating until I come back. When I get back, it's time to prepare to move into our new home! Got to source for air con at IMM, ICI Light & Space paint & various pieces of furniture. Ooh, before I forget, my MS warrior finally made it to level 70 & is now a White Knight. 50 more levels to go to 4th job. Jiayou!

Busy Day We Had

Went out for breakfast with my in laws in Jurong at almost 11 am. Then we went to the adjacent market to get ingredients for her home made chilli sauce. There we watched as a young man hit his mother on the 3rd floor of the HDB block beside the market. There were lots of shouting & yelling between him & his mother. He bang & kicked the door when the mother locked him outside. We continued our shopping with the son finally leaving & the commotion died down.

We were running on a tight schedule Jeff was supposed to meet his insurance agent 12.30 pm at IMM & we just stepped into the bank at 12.10 pm. My MIL & I went to Esprit at IMM while waiting for Jeff. My FIL went to walk by himself. I got 3 tshirts & a skirt for $108. It made me very happy to be able to fit into L size & 1 of my tops was actually M size even though it has to be becoz of the cutting. But it's a good motivator though.

After dropping off my in laws back at BP, we went to Picket & Rails showroom along Woodlands Road. We ordered a sofa set (3+2 seater) & a bedroom set (Queen bedframe & a dresser). Then I came home to bathe Ton Ton. Tomorrow's schedule is just as bad.

We got to be at the Dentist by 11 am. But before that, we got to drop off food for Puggy at the boarder's. Today's the last day Ton Ton's gonna be with us at BP. He put on a lot of weight in the 1 week he's here as my in laws can't stop feeding him. Then we'll be going to Gain City to choose the air con we want to install at the new flat. Lastly, I got to pack for Monday's trip. I've already packed the clothes. I just need to add in things for the hand carry like the camera & other fragile items. Oooh... I'm excited!

Late Night Ramblings

Most, if not all of us wants to feel desirable. I feel that it is the basis of our self esteem. How did I come to that conclusion? I was epilating my legs & I wondered why the hell am I putting myself through such pain? In my mind, I imagine a guy asking me the same question.

My answer to him was, "It's becoz of you wretched males! You want girls to be slim, pretty & sexy. We have to work hard to play that part just so that we're desirable to you. All these hard work of dieting, carefully selecting clothes that makes us look slimmer, nail arts, shaving, waxing, or in my case, epilating & etc are just for that sole purpose."

It makes us feel good to be desired & appreciated by the opposite sex regardless of whether we're attached or not. I have no point to bring across. This is just 1 of the random things that ran through my mind. The funny thing is, I know for sure that Jeff doesn't care about my appearance. He tells me that often enough. He never fails to reassure me that I look good on days I feel fat & that nothing in the wardrobe looks good on me. But I guess like many, many others out there, it's never enough to have the approval of just 1 person. It's a nature that we've cultivated living in this superficial world. I can't say for all but I guess true people who've devoted themselves to their religion (like true monks/nuns) have been able to see "beauty" for what it is (temporary & fleeting) & given it up.

Then again, beauty is very subjective.You may be ugle to the rest of the world, But to that 1 special person, you're the most beautiful in the entire world. Still, we desire to charm the rest of the world, isn't it? Sigh... I think too much. It's all the epilating act's fault!

Super Fed Up!

I was in Jurong as we were sending my mom for a dentist visit as she needs to replace her dentures. I had my whole day mapped out. We would go to the dentist at Jurong West 1st, followed by heading to Annie's Pet Corner (APC for short) at Boon Lay Shopping Centre, then drop my parents back off at JE. After that we would go to Yishun's organic shop to get spirulina powder & baked soy beans.

My parents have never been to a pet supply shop so I thought it would be good for them to have a look as an eye opener & pick up some chew toys for the boys, a new set of collar & leash for Wang Wang. It ws 11.40 am when we reached APC. It was not open! The notice at the gate says they're closed on Mondays but open on Tues to Sun from 11 am to 9 pm. I checked to make sure that today's Tues & it is!

I was so so so angry! This isn't the 1st time it happened. The other time, I drove down specially to buy some supplies that DoggyFriend doesn't carry. But the shop wasn't open either despite it being 12.30 pm. At that time I thought maybe it was some emergency or something. But this is once too many. So I asked Jeff to call the Toa Payoh branch (the number was on the sign board). He asked if the Boon Lay branch was closed down. The person who answered said that her son must be late & that she would give him a call. I didn't bother to wait for him to come.

Is this how you do business? You can't even be bothered to be on time. If you can't welcome customers at 11 am sharp, then change the opening hours. What is this? I go there especially to buy from you & this is the kind of thing I get. I'm sure it happens on a regular basis. Anyway, it's definitely my last time going there.

Ton Ton's Chalet Trip

Just a short update. We brought Ton Ton with us to BP for a short chalet trip. I didn't have time to groom him at JE so I brought him to my in law's place. He's been with us since Sat & he's having a great time. I gave him a good brush to remove all the matts. I couldn't find his shampoo though I have the conditioner with me. So I used the baby bath on him which is for Jeff's nephew's use. Haha. He's enjoying himself a lot. He has good food & soon will have new toys. (I threw away all the old & yucky soft toys.) He makes himself comfortable on my FIL's favourite sofa. He gets daily brushing from me. He indeed is well pampered.

Part 1 Over & Done With

"Qiang Tan Da Xing Dong" is called Buzzing Cashier in English. Guess who I saw? LOL. It's Robert! I kept my eyes peeled since I don't know when he'll show up on screen. I thought it would be this episode since he said he ate muffins & this episode was about muffins. Haha!

Headed to HDB yesterday for the completion. So Part 1 is officially over. I went over to JE early to pick up my parents coz I've never driven to Toa Payoh by myself before. Reached there around 1.30 pm. My aim was to leave around 2.30 pm even though the appointment time was 4 pm coz you never know when you'll make a wrong turn. (Like the time I took 1 hr 45 mins to drive to Pawtobello even with the GPS) Ton Ton & Wang Wang were very happy to see me. Wanted to give Ton Ton a brush but I left the doggy bag behind when I left my in law's place. His fur was matted on the chest mostly. It happened all the time due to the harness whenever he goes for a walk. Looks like I got to make another trip soon to brush him out & give both of them a shower.

We left at 2.45 pm & I actually managed to get there plus parking at 3.10 pm. With so much time to spare, we went to MOS Burger for a drink & respite from the oppressive heat. By the time I dropped my parents off at JE, it was already 5.45 pm. I then headed back to BP.

Today, I received a wonderful news. I'm offered the job of which I went for the interview last week! The pay & rank is higher than I expected, probably becoz of the rank.

In 1 week's time, we'll be doing the completion for BP flat on the 10th. Then we'll be leaving for a 6 days trip on the 14th early morning. 1 week after coming back from the trip, we'll be moving into the BP flat. & less than a week later, I'll be starting a new job. Wow... That's a lot, a lot of changes in such a short time. I better enjoy while I can.
