Almost An Accident

Tuesday night. As usual, I have to take the feeder bus back home from the train station. I was really engrossed in my novel so I didn't witness what exactly happened. But I do know that the bus had stopped for the red light. After a while, the bus accelerated for the green light. That was when the driver jammed on the brakes & I went flying into the seat in front of me (which was facing me in the opposite direction). I banged both my knees, scrapped my left arm & hit my jaw on the seat handle. It was later when I realised how I must have looked with my butt sticking in the air.
Anyway, this car must have been making a right turn from the opposite direction. (We were at a cross junction.) Say my bus is heading north. This car going south makes a right turn into the west. Now, this west has 2 directions separated by a kerb. This car drove straight into the oncoming direction & stopped between the vehicles waiting at the red light & my bus. Even if the driver didn't wait for oncoming vehicles to clear, there's no way a seasoned driver can drive into the wrong lane with a kerb separating them. Worse still, before the bus cleared the path, the car started to reverse! The bus driver immediately braked & honked at him. When I looked, this car didn't have a P plate. So either, the driver was drunk or 2, driving without license or 3, daydreaming. Personally, I think it's number 2.
Now it's Thursday & my knees are swollen & bruised still. These people shouldn't be allowed to drive! What are they thinking? Putting their life & other people's life in danger! Driving tests should be more difficult to pass. & maybe they should be given a survey & those who pose a risk to the public shouldn't be allowed to learn driving. But that's just my wishful thinking. Oh well...
