Lotsa Happenings (Recently)
1st for some gossips. My supervisor insisted on doing Thursday night even though there's already a night nurse on duty so that she can take Friday off & have a long weekend. She does it all the time by the way so it ain't a surprise. Then she's not coming in on Monday as well & I doubt she'll submit her leave form. Darn! I was hoping to submit my resignation letter on Monday.
Anyway, for those of you who has been following my blog, you'll know there's been lots of happenings in my life lately. I've got 1 more bombshell to drop. Jeff received a letter from HDB, saying that we got the Redhill flat & we have to go down on the 8th Dec for unit selection. The biggest problem is still money. We have to pay 10% upon confirmation of the flat right? Prices for the Redhill units start from 260k to 340k. So it's safe to say, units on the 2nd floor is 260k & units on the 30th floor is 340k. Our combined cash in CPF Ordinary Account is just slightly more than 26k. So it means that if we don't want to have to fork out cash, we have to choose low level units. On top of that, we have to pay option fee of 2k & 1-3% of legal & stamp fees. Our loan will be 90%. Over 30 years, we have to pay a monthly installment of 1.3k via CPF & cash. There's no way we can afford it. We can only give it up.
I know it's odds against odds that we got the flat. But we have no other choice. I feel so sad. We were so lucky. We got it the 1st time round, against 2600 people who went to ballot for 164 units. To watch it slip from our grasps is just too much to bear.
