Thank You

It's been a rough & long week. I stayed back for OT again today till 6.30 pm. But I'm being compensated with a stroke of luck coz I'm granted leave on Tuesday, 9th Dec. It's the day after L&E's wedding & our 2nd wedding anniversary. Best of all, Jeff is off too!

We got together on 10th July 2003. We used to celebrate every 10th July as anniversary. We got married on 9th Dec 2006 after patoh-ing for almost 3.5 years. It's almost 5.5 years since we 1st got together. We forged from barely 20s to mid 20s together. Now, we're going to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Thank you for everything you've given me. Thank you for bringing our beloved boys into our life. Without you, my parents would never have agreed to have a dog. Thank you for being the pillar of good in my life. You truly have a good heart & I have so much to learn from you. Thank you for shouldering all the major responsibilities. I don't know how my life would have turned out otherwise. Thank you for always supporting whatever decisions I wanna make. So I can do what I want to do with a peace of mind.

You gave me a diamond pendant for last year's anniversary cum birthday present which ate up a huge bit of your bonus. This year, you surprised me with a Wii & Wii Fit. I really believe that it was computer parts you bought at Sim Lim. When you presented me with the Wii, all attached to the TV & ready to play, I was shocked speechless. We talked about getting a Wii since a long time ago but never got around to it coz we simply don't have the spare cash. I tried my hand at cooking but I wasn't too good at it. We boxed each other (I won), bowled together (I won again), played tennis (I won yet again) & golfed together (ok, you won). We played Mario Kart & discovered how difficult it is to control the vehicle.

Then, I was tired & wanted to sleep. I can't remember how we came to the topic of Wii Fit but I remember telling you it can take your weight & doing hula hoops or yoga is possible by detecting the shift of weight on your feet. Then I told you not to buy it coz I don't want to incur anymore spending & that it's not necessary. You told me you got for me a new weighing machine & I was foolish enough to believe you. I've talked about getting a weighing machine that can measure the amount of fats, water %, bone/muscle mass & other parameters in the body. I was thinking, "Oh yeah! Now I can keep track of whether I'm losing fats or muscles!". You went next door & brought in the other black bag. When I opened it, I got my 2nd shock of the day. Inside was a Wii Fit! You refused to tell me the price & tricked me into promising that I won't ask of it again.

I know you feel lousy that you don't earn enough to buy expensive things for me & even though we slog every month, the ends hardly meet. But you know what? I feel that I'm the richest girl in the world. I have something nobody else have. I have you. Thank you for being my bestest friend, my hubby, my soulmate, my confidante. Without you, life would be meaningless.
