I Must Be Dreaming Still

I still can't believe Puggy top the class in the exam. I think why Puggy can pass is becoz L&E took the time to come down to BP to give me tips & point out where I can improve. Then while waiting for my turn, L came behind & reinforce the tips. Thank you so much guys! I was very nervous & still was even as I walked into the tent but having you guys there made it more bearable.

Here's my account of today's events. I trained Puggy on Mon, Wed to Fri. Sat I went to work, did my hair & played LAN game with Jeff's friends & didn't get home till 1 am. I woke up extra early today at 7.30 am as I was supposed to leave my house at 8.30 am to fetch Jon. As I was packing to leave, I suddenly remembered that I washed my 2 leashes (6 & 15 ft) on Fri night after Puggy's training. I soaked the leashes (together with the choke chain) in the main toilet/bathroom & went to shower. Actually wanted to rinse the leashes after my shower but I got tired & went to sleep. The next day on Sat, I left for work early morning & slept the moment I got home. I totally forgot about the leashes till this morning.

Immediately, I went to the toilet & it was still soaking in the soapy water! Luckily the chain didn't rust. I quickly rinse through it & set the hair dryer on max heat. I didn't managed to totally dry them coz I was in a hurry. Then we made our way to West Coast to pick Jon up. It was already 9.30 am & I was worried that we'll be late. We made it to PM at 10.20 am. Took our seats, was briefed on what to expect & given a demo by Schnappi, the husky.

Since nobody wanted to volunteer to go 1st, we drew lots. I was number 6 & supposed to go 2nd last. The 1st was Cartoon (Crossed) & the rest of us cleared the tent to do some heel work at the side. L then came & practised with us & took Puggy to ALL to let the dogs there bark at him. LOL. 2nd was Chang (Mixed), 3rd was Hagen (CKCS), 4th was Xuan Xuan (Lab), 5th was QQ (MS). Then, Chris called for Wendy (Westie) instead of me. I was kinda confused coz I thought I was supposed to go 1st. Anyway, it didn't really matter lah coz in the end, you still got to do it. After Wendy, Chris asked, "Everybody did already right?" :X He forgot about Puggy!

Up to the time I went into the tent, my heart was pounding. Everything went quite well except for 2 occasions. 1st was after the off leash & before the recall. Chris said, exercise finish & I told Puggy "OK!" & he ran out of the tent. Chris then tell me to use "Here here" or "Heel" next time. Coz during class, everytime Chris said exercise finish, we always use the "OK!" to signify that they are released from command. :P 2nd was during recall off leash, he didn't sit in front of me. Instead, he went straight to my left & sat facing straight ahead. *Faint* So I was asked to go in front of him & do the heel. Since I was the last 1, everybody got called back in for sit stay & down stay. Chris was right that the 3 mins of down stay is the longest 3 mins in our life. I kept thinking, "How come so long? Is it 3 mins yet?" Finally, it was over! Only Chang broke her down stay & had to repeat it again.

Chang got 180/200. I forgot the rest of the points liao. Then it was Cartoon or Hagen (I forgot again), followed by Xuan Xuan, QQ, Wendy & Puggy. Like I said, I couldn't believe it. On Fri, he still wasn't very good off leash. In fact, on a few occasions, he didn't even heel but strayed away from me. After an entire morning of bad luck & memory, I finally got a stroke of good luck. I got 1 point deducted for his auto sit on leash when after halting a fast pace forward, he sat further away from me, facing east. I got another point deducted for the recall off leash.

Puggy, I'm so proud of you! So you do listen to me when I talk. (I always talk to him during our daily training, telling him to listen & pay attention to me during exam.) I'll post the pictures up another day. It's getting very late & I got to work tomorrow. Chris sent an sms that Bernard accidentally deleted away the photos taken & he asked for us to return next Sun to retake the photos. Eh... I don't think many will show up bah...
