Open Your Eyes!

For some reasons unknown to me, a lot of people treats Drs like God. I guess their post commands respect but don't all living things have a right to being treated with respect? How many times have I come across patients who are nasty to us but suddenly become so friendly & mellow when talking to the Dr? It's life I know. My colleague said that in order not to be pushed around, you have to stand up for yourself & push them back. But it's an endless cycle isn't it?

Anyway, back to the topic. There're nice Drs around but they're like the 0.0001% of the entire lot. We all have to work right? We all have a somewhat fixed hours job (excluding OT) right? I could get into trouble for blogging this but hey, there're no names mentioned so I can't be implicated right? Anaesthetists have very good working hours. Why do I say that? If the day's surgeries finish early, they can pack up & go home. So lucky are the 1s who get an afternoon list that has only 1 or 2 short cases. Coz they can go back as early as 2 pm. But of course, the opposite holds true too. If they get a long list, they need to stay back. But they get paid for it ok?

So, if you know you have a long list today & most probably won't finish by 5 pm, will you still make an appointment for say 5.30 pm? Normal sane people don't right? Coz it's your work day & it's your responsibility to your work right? You won't just drop your work & go on a date unless in life & death situation right? So what happened was, there was a complication in 1 of the cases which prolonged the surgery time. Such things are unpredictable & can't be helped right? Becoz of that, the entire list couldn't finish by 5 pm. So this anaesthetist got angry & started throwing tantrums. Mind you, it's not uncommon ok? He insisted that he had to leave on the dot at 5 pm & he did.

What does it say about you? You're just too over spoilt. I don't see you complaining when you get to go home early. Btw, the entire list finished at 5.30 pm. This is just 1 out of the many incidents & only having to do with anaesthetists. Don't even get me started on the surgeons. So what if you're smart & you've got many degrees & such? You're so very much degraded when it comes to being the most basic thing. A human being. Beauty lies not in the physical aspect of a person. It lies in the heart. I swear that my dogs deserve to go to heaven much more than you do.
