More About My Job
Remember my supervisor told me that she wouldn't be signing my confirmation & suggested that I give serious thoughts to whether the job is suitable for me? Well, heard from my colleague that the HR people chased after her today, asking how come my confirmation has not been signed yet. Up till this point, Jeff still holds the hope that I'll stay. He asked me what will I do if my supervisor wants to sign it now.
I know, this job pays really well & especially now that we're starting a family we need the money. I just feel that it's not worth it. Life is already so short. You should aim to make this short stay on earth as happy & joyful as you can. So what if we get what we're pursuing for? We'll still end up wanting more. Then we'll never be happy becoz we'll never be contented. I just want a simple, debt-free life, having enough to save a bit at the end of the month.
Another thing is, I'm worried. My cleaner has been warning me that my SRN colleague is a 2 headed snake becoz she on really good terms with our supervisor. I hope she is not. I hope I've not misplaced my trust on her. Something she said today made me wonder. But let me go back to Friday.
Thursday afternoon, my SRN colleague told me that our supervisor took 1/2 day 'leave' becoz she was giddy. Yeah right! I half expected her not to turn up to work the next day alraedy. That night itself, my supervisor called me at home & told me that her daughter was sick with diarrhea & vomitting. So she would be going down to have a look & wouldn't be coming to work the next day. (Her daughter is studying in an international school with boarding services in Malaysia.) Bull's Eye!
She arranged for an agency nurse to come in to help me. I'd rather not becoz having to teach a brand new staff & having to do my work at the same time is really difficult & time consuming. But according to her, her supervisor insisted on another nurse. The agency nurse who came was really horrible. She talked non stop from the moment she stepped in till the time she left. She talked about herself, some talks she's attending on a regular basis, trying to pursuade us to go for the talk becoz it's FOC, etc, etc, etc.
After a while, I really turned off & did my Sudoku. Then she went to talk to our Assistant Nurse who turned off after a while too. After that, she went to talk to our cleaner repeating the same things again. She really couldn't take a hint. Luckily the day was slow & few students came in throughout the day. I must stressed that she really talked NON STOP!
So this news have to be passed to my supervisor today when she came back to work. My SRN colleague was on morning shift. She told our AN, "I'm surprised that you didn't tell her to shut up & read some material." right in front of our supervisor. I don't think that it was a nice thing to do. What would our supervisor think of her? It would only strengthen her stand of kicking our AN out.
Anyway, I also heard from my supervisor that her daughter wasn't very sick. Then she made a show of saying that the staff didn't give her a clear picture of her daughter's condition & therefore caused her to make a wasted trip down & that she had wrote in to complain about it. Oh for goodness' sake! She's a SRN with a degree. Couldn't she have taken the initiative to inquire more over the phone? This was just a bunch of excuses not to come to work.
