Dieting Again?
Yupz! After maintaining my current weight for 1 year, I've decided to make another attempt to lose some more weight. I hope to be 52kg & that's a long long way more to go. 16 kg to be exact. Started my dieting regime yesterday.
Starting (Yesterday's) weight: 68kg.
Today's weight: 67.1kg.
They say that the 1st 3kg is water weight. So 2 more kg of water to shed. I'm a very extreme kind of person when it comes to dieting. It's all or nothing. Meaning, totally no food. If I allow myself even the slightest bit of food, I'll binge & fail completely.
I'm following the diet regime taught to Jeff by his dietician colleague. Replace all 3 meals with 1 serving of Glucerna. (Ya, I know about the milk scare but the ingredients list doesn't show milk or milk products. So I wonder what it's made of.) She told Jeff that 1 would lose weight very fast on this regime provided you're disciplined enough to go through with it. That's all you're gonna consume for a day, everyday until you reach your target weight. How long does it take to lose 16kg? I hope it's not 2 or 3 months. I'll die... No food except disgusting milk...
I did cheat by eating 1 slice of low fat cheese last night after I came home from training Puggy. The Glucerna isn't cheap also. But it's definitely cheaper than the meal replacements sold outside by half. 1 can makes 17 servings = 6 days. 1 can = $35+ at Unity = $170 per month. Still very ex... So this morning, I replaced my morning serving with 2 slices of bread with cheese. Calories wise is the same. I hope this will help in reducing cost & reducing cravings for real food.
Some facts about losing weight. 3500 kcal deficit = 1kg loss. Same could be said of 3500kcal surplus = 1kg gained. Humans need min. 1200 kcal per day for bodily functions at rest. So if you put in working, most girls require around 2000 kcal per day to maintain their weight. This amount goes down the lighter you are. So a 50kg girl may need only 1800 kcal per day depending on your work. 3 servings of Glucerna yields 660 kcal. That's why the dietician said that you'll lose weight very fast. This is very low calories intake.
This is only my 2nd day. To be honest, I don't hold much hope for myself. Coz it's a really insane diet & I don't know how long I can go. But I'll just go on as long as I can. Even if I don't hit 52kg, I'm happy to even lose some weight. :P
