Idle Nothings
Been quite a while since I really blogged. Perhaps like the Lost I'm chasing now, I've been feeling somewhat disconnected from the world. I wouldn't say that I've been busy but there's always something going on during the weekends. Last Sun I was invited by my Nursing Manager (NM) to a Soka Friendship Gathering. This Sun is my BIL's ROM. Next Sun is a colleague's wedding. The next next week is a colleague's house warming.
Was working 7 to 4 pm for the entire week. I had to sleep at 9 pm coz I had to wake up at 5 am. All that sleeping early & waking early has led to me waking up before 8 am during the weekends. I had dreams & nightmares for 4 days out of my 5 work days. I can't remember all except for 2.
On Thurs morning, I dreamt that my NM refused to grant me my request for time off. Anyway, it turned out opposite coz she did grant me time off on Thurs. (In my job, sometimes we have to stay back & it converts into time off which we can claim if the work place can spare you.) Then just this morning, I dreamt that I had to work today & can't go JB. This is also opposite of reality coz this week is my Sat off & we're going JB although it's raining now. So all my dreams this week has been reflections of my fears & worries. Jeff says I'm too stressed up. So I hope to unwind during our JB trip today. We won't be going far, just to City Sq. We plan to get a massage, shop, eat (what else!) & watch movie if time allows.
Yesterday, we went to IMM. It's 1 of our regular place to go coz it has free parking for the 1st 3 hours. We got some mooncake from Crystal Jade. It's a special coz it's western mooncake. The texture is something like mousse. There're 5 flavours to choose from, Oreo, Black Sesame, Mango with Nata De Coco, Brown Rice & Black Glutinous Rice. I've tried the Mango & Brown Rice the previous round. This time, I got 2 Brown Rice & 2 Black Glutinous for myself. As for my in laws, I got all except Oreo. Sometimes you just get sick of the traditional mooncake & this is a nice change. The rice gives the mousse mooncake a nice chewy texture.
My gift may be very cheap but I hope my in laws like it. My BIL's soon to be wife got them a box of expensive ($52 - I search on the net) Black Durian Mooncake from Raffles Hotel & a box of Traditional Mooncake with 4 Yolks from some restaurant. You can tell from the box that it's really expensive. Oh, ignore me. I'm just feeling inferior.
