A Dream That May Never Come True

Been very sian & very lazy to update my blog. Haven't slept well the entire week. I wake up frequently from dreams, mostly bad ones although I can go back to sleep. Then, I always wake up before the alarm goes off, sometimes as early as 2 hours earlier. Must be the stress from work. Coz the problem mysteriously disappears during weekends.

Been meaning to blog this but I couldn't find the mood to do it. Went to Robert & Enrica's new place I think about 2 weeks ago. Seeing their extensive renovation, it reminded me of how far we've strayed from our original dream house. But we've already paid 35k cash so we've decided to wait another few years. We've always dreamed of dark wood furniture with glass theme. That's why we try to buy mostly black brown furnitures. But I think by the time we can do up the glass theme, the furnitures will be old liao & lose the effect once again.

We were thinking of joining the study room & bedroom together by fixing a door at the junction between the living room & corridor to the rooms. If possible, we'll like to hack off the wall behind the build in wardrobe & convert it into a walk in wardrobe which we can exit into the study room. For my parents' room, we'll like to create another door to the kitchen bathroom/toilet from inside their room so it's like they have their own toilet too.

Other things I can think of is to either shift the kitchen sink or redo the entire kitchen layout. It's ridiculous that the rack for drip drying wet utensils is located so far away from the sink. We just end up dripping water all over. For now, we put a temporary rack on 1 of the sink partition & wait till it's drier before carrying it over. We also want to remove the window grills, change the windows completely or remove the sticky film so we can hang a very special jigsaw puzzle I did before we got married. It's a stained glass effect jigsaw & only looks good against a clear & bright surface. We'll mostly likely remove the bathtub as well coz it's not practical & we don't use it at all.

We wanted to wait 5 years so we can use this time to save up & 2ndly, make our 35k cash worth. Another problem is, if we have children, where will they sleep if we've joined the study & bedroom together? Raising a kid is no cheap deal. We probably won't have the money if we wait till after we have children. But 5 years is a long way down the road & all these may never come to pass. Everyone can dream. But how many of us can make our dreams into reality? Hai... it's all the money's fault.
