Back To Action... Almost
Alrighty! Been out of action for the better part of Dec, thanks to a bout of illness & many other contributing factors. Let's start from when I started work shall we?
Started work on the 3rd Dec. I truly hope that I will grow to like it coz nothing is worse than having to drag yourself to work everyday. Anyway, in the 1st week of starting my job, my mom informed me that her right upper lip was swollen. As it was already into the night, we decided to bring her to see a dr the next morning. By morning, the right half of her face was swollen. I had to go to work so Jeff brought her to the GP at 9 am. Hence started the day long process of being pushed around.
GP said that she should see a dentist & sent her off with no charges. They went to CCK polyclinic dentist who said she needed to go to the hospital dentist & charged her consultation. They reached NUH dental clinic at 2+ pm & waited till almost 6 pm before she was finally seen by the dentist. The dentist said she needed to be admitted due to being on warfarin so they couldn't do the I&D immediately & sent her to the A&E. When I got to NUH A&E at 7+ pm, they were still waiting to be seen. She finally got to the ward at 10+ pm.
She stayed for a few days where she given IV antibiotics. By the next day, the swelling had significantly gone down. In place of the warfarin, they got her started on subcutaneous injection of clexane which is a short acting blood thinner. This was in preparation for her to have the I&D & dental extraction so she wouldn't bleed non stop during the procedure. But the problem isn't over yet.
Coz to prevent her blood from clotting in her heart where she had a synthetic heart valve put in a few yrs ago, her INR (a measure of how thick the blood is) needs to be between 2 to 3. But becoz she stopped her warfarin for so many days, her INR was only 1.5. This is life threatening coz if her blood clots at the valve, she will die. So she has to top up her warfarin with the clexane injections. Even now after more than an entire week of clexane plus warfarin, her INR is only 1.78. She has to go in for INR check every 3 days. She has to continue the injections given by yours truly twice a day until her INR goes up. At the same time, her INR cannot be too high or she'll be at risk of internal bleeding & risk losing her life as well. Her next check is tomorrow. Life is such a delicate line indeed...
2 weeks into my new job, I succumbed to a cough & flu that subsequently made me feel hard to breathe & like I couldn't get enough oxygen. I could only take short but quick puffs coz breathing in deeply made my chest ache. I was given a nebuliser at the GP & was given the diagnosis of bronchiolitis. I'm still having a bit of cough. I should think that it'll clear by next weekend bah.
Been away from the internet coz I've started watching "My Date With A Vampire 2" vcds once again. I could watch the entire off day away. Been showering more attention to Puggy by giving him kisses & pats. But he never fails to spoil the moment by trying to nip my hand. So no more sayangs the moment he does that. He spoils the kissing parts too. By blowing his nose into my face! Anyway, becoz of the daily rains, he caught a tick on his thigh which I pulled off. What happened next proves just how much of a bimbo mind I have although I don't have a bimbo body to match.
With nowhere to throw the tick, I wrapped it up in a piece of tissue paper. Then I remembered that it'll drown in alcohol so I poured some malibu coconut rum over it. Yeah, yeah, stop laughing! Then I felt that to be safe, I better burn it. But the darn tissue wouldn't catch fire becoz it's wet! After struggling for a long time, Jeff finally came to help me by shredding kitchen towels & put it around the wet tissue in camp fire style. So what do you think? Perhaps I should go lose even more weight & be a full fledge bimbo.
